Safe Share for Windows User's Guide
Safe Share for Windows 2.16 User's Guide

This documentation is for 2.16.x versions of the Covata Safe Share for Windows application.

Please refer to our important notice for information that relates to this documentation.

Overview

Safe Share for Windows is a Windows application that allows you to securely share and access any data anywhere.

Using Safe Share for Windows, you can encrypt, store and share files and folders from your computer, directly through Windows Explorer.

To maximise data security, Safe Share for Windows always encrypts or decrypts content locally on your computer. Once Safe Share for Windows encrypts and secures local content, it is then uploaded to remote storage managed by your configured Covata Platform instance.

You can then access this secured content (in remote storage) through Safe Share for Windows or any other Safe Share application such as the Safe Share web application, which is accessible from any location - even publicly beyond an organization's private network.

Safe Share for Windows also synchronizes secured items between your Windows computer and remote storage, which means any secured items that:

  • You share with other people in Safe Share for Windows will also be reflected in other Safe Share applications (and vice versa).
  • Other people have shared with you will be available in both Safe Share for Windows and the Safe Share web application.
